The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
