Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
