Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
