Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
