He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 you attend to him, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And whereas he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what has God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
