The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
