The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right hand; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
