The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 “And we will not be punished.” 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
