Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 From the guilty. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
