Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
