Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Abundance diverts you, 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Nay, but ye will come to know! 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
