The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
