The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
