S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 A very host of parties is routed there! 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
