The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 The rising dawn, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
