And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
