Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
