The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the Great News 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
