The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
