The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
