Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
