Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!" 59 The elders of his people replied: "We see clearly that you have gone astray." 60 "I have not gone astray, O my people," he said, "but have been sent by my Lord, the creator of all the worlds. 61 I deliver to you the Messages of my Lord, and I advise you sincerely; for I know from God that you know not. 62 "Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord, through a man of your own people, to warn you,- so that ye may fear Allah and haply receive His Mercy?" 63 But they called him a liar, and We saved him and those with him in the Ark, and drowned the others who rejected Our signs, for they were a people purblind. 64
