The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
