Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 We shall send the she-camel as a trial for them; so watch their end with patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
