Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
