The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
