Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Who hath created the heavens and the earth, and hath appointed darkness and light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe rivals unto their Lord. 1 He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves! 2 He is God both in the heavens and on earth. He has knowledge of all that you hide and all that you reveal. He knows what you do; 3 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they turn away therefrom. 4 They have rejected truth whenever it came to them, yet [more] news will reach them concerning what they have been making a mockery of. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them on the earth more firmly than you, and We sent the clouds over them, pouring down abundant rain; and made the rivers flow at their feet. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them. 6 Had We sent down on thee a Book on parchment and so they touched it with their hands, yet the unbelievers would have said, 'This is naught but manifest sorcery.' 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 And had We made him an angel, We would still have made him a man, and We would have confounded for them that which they are confounding. 9 And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, wherefore that whereat they scoffed beset these who had been mocking. 10
