The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
