Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
