The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
