Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
