Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
