Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble, recording, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
