Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
