Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
