Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent 81 and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 (And We are nigher him than you, but you do not see Us) 85 why, then, if you are not subject to Our command, 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and go astray, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 and will be scorched by the Fire. 94 This is indeed an utmost certainty. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
