The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
