Remember Our votary Job because he called to his Lord: "Satan has afflicted me with disease and distress." 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;- 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
