Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
