Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
