The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
