Who are more unjust than those who ascribe falsehood to God or reject His revelations? The unjust will certainly have no happiness. 21 And on the day when We shall muster them all together, then We shall say unto those who associated other gods with God, 'Where are your associates whom you were asserting? 22 Then they will have no excuse but to say: by God our Lord, we have not been associaters. 23 See how they will lie about themselves. And lost from them will be what they used to invent. 24 Among them are some who listen to you, but We have placed veils over their hearts and deafness in their ears which prevent them from understanding what you say. Even if they saw all the signs, they would still not believe in them. When those who deny the truth come to dispute with you, they will say, "This is nothing but ancient fables," 25 They keep away from the faith and forbid others to accept it. They destroy no one except themselves, yet they do not realize it. 26 If you could but see when they will be held over the (Hell) Fire! They will say: "Would that we were but sent back (to the world)! Then we would not deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.) of our Lord, and we would be of the believers!" 27 Yea, in their own (eyes) will become manifest what before they concealed. But if they were returned, they would certainly relapse to the things they were forbidden, for they are indeed liars. 28 And they say: There is naught save our life of the world, and we shall not be raised (again). 29 And couldst thou see what time they shall be held before their Lord? He will say: is this not real? They will say: aye! by our Lord! He will say: taste then the torment for ye have been disbelieving. 30
