1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them; 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
