Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
