The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human being 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
