After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then you erring ones, you that cried lies, 51 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 "And drink boiling water on top of it, 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten - 60 Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing about. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 "In fact, we were unfortunate!" 67 So what is your opinion regarding the water that you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
