The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
