Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble, writers 11 Who know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
