Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So you and your deities 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 and we glorify God". 166 They say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
