۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 do not let Satan bar your way. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 ARE THEY [who are lost in sin] but waiting for the Last Hour - [waiting] that it come upon them of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]? 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
